Saddleback Butte/California State Poppy Reserve April 2017

Today Arlene & I took a nice day trip to Saddleback Butte Park and the California State Poppy Reserve. We wanted to check out the camping and picnic areas at Saddleback then head over to the Poppy Reserve because Arlene had red that the Poppy's were starting to bloom and they were but due to the cloud cover, the poppy's were not opened but still between the poppy's, the yellow and lavender flowers, it was a day well spent.

At Saddleback Butte State Park, we were very impressed with condition and upkeep of the park. The camping sites looked clean and spacious and the picnic area looked good though it looked as though it could have used a weed wacker around some of the picnic sites. It could be too that with all the rain we've been getting that they are waiting until the weather gets better.

The Poppy Reserve had lots of Poppy's as Arlene had red however, because of a cloud covering of an impending storm and lots of wind, the Poppy's were closed up. What with the Poppy's and several other types of flowers, our trip was a huge success.
